Tyson Ruddock 2

After the controversial ending to their first fight on March 18, 1991, a rematch was immediately set up. Tyson acted increasingly bizarre and belligerent in the pre-fight interviews for the second bout, and it only him more unlikeable and annoying. I never liked him anyway, and these antics deepened that dislike.

The second fight took place at the same outdoor arena at the Mirage on June 28th. Ruddock weighed 238 lbs. for this fight, a gain of 10 lbs. over the previous time, while Tyson weighed 216 lbs. Razor was big and broad shouldered, carried the weight well, and looked even stronger.

The fight itself was a brawl that went the distance. Razor went down twice, but neither time was hurt, with one being more of a slip. He rocked and hurt Tyson on several occasions, and it was enjoyable to watch for the full 12 rounds it went. Especially since Richard Steele wasn’t in the ring to ruin the outcome again.
