The Top 5 Knockouts of Evander Holyfield

This is My List of the Top 5 Knockouts of Evander Holyfield.

  1. Evander Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson. November 9, 1996. MGM Grand; Las Vegas, Nevada. Evander Holyfield opens as a 25-1 underdog to Tyson after the Seldon tank-job. I was in the audience at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas to see Evander shock the world, and stop Tyson in the 11th round. Tyson would challenge, but never win another world championship, while Holyfield would finish his career as a 4-time heavyweight champ.
  2. Evander Holyfield vs. Buster Douglas. October 25, 1990. Mirage Hotel and Casino; Las Vegas, Nevada. After Buster Douglas won the title by upsetting Mike Tyson on February 1990, he defends his belt against Holyfield in his first title defense. Evander totally dominates the overweight and underprepared Douglas, and knocks him out with a single right hand in the third round.
  3. Evander Holyfield vs. Michael Moorer 2. November 8, 1997. Thomas and Mack Center; Las Vegas, Nevada. In a back and forth brawl, Evander gets his revenge against Moorer by knocking him down 5 times over an eight round period. Evander looks spectacular at 35 years old in his domination of Moorer, and actually appears to be getting better with age.
  4. Evander Holyfield vs. Michael Dokes. March 11, 1989. Caesar’s Palace Sports Pavilion; Las Vegas, Nevada. In his 3rd bout as a heavyweight after unifying the cruiserweight division, Evander Holyfield survives a combative Michael Dokes effort, but proves his superiority as the fight continues. Holyfield puts Dokes away in the 10th, and makes the world know that there is a new challenger for Mike Tyson’s title.
  5. Evander Holyfield vs. Bert Cooper. November 23, 1991. The Omni; Atlanta, Georgia. After his mega-bout with Mike Tyson is cancelled, Evander faces Bert Cooper as a last minute substitute. Cooper drops Holyfield and has the champion hurt, but can’t finish him. Evander rallies and stops Cooper in the 7th, but draws criticism after his performance, with the pundits saying Tyson would have knocked Evander out.
