This is My List of the Top 5 Knockouts of Mike Tyson.
- Mike Tyson vs. Trevor Berbick. November 22, 1986. Hilton Center; Las Vegas, Nevada. The challenger Mike Tyson makes quick work of the WBC champ Trevor Bertick, stopping him in two easy rounds. Tyson becomes the youngest heavyweight champion in history at 20 years old, and makes the world take notice with his impressive showing.
- Mike Tyson vs. Pinklon Thomas. May 30, 1987. Hilton Outdoor Arena; Las Vegas, Nevada. ‘Iron Mike’ blasts his way through the ex-champion Thomas, and knocks him out in the sixth round. In his second title defense, Tyson is letting the boxing world know that he takes no prisoners, and has only knockouts on his mind.
- Mike Tyson vs. Tyrell Biggs. October 16,d 1987. Atlantic City Convention Hall; Atlantic City, New Jersey. Tyrell Bills is seen by some as a legitimate challenger to Tyson because of his boxing ability, but not me. Biggs runs out of steam after just two rounds, letting Tyson steamroll through and punish him, and put him down and out for good in the seventh. A one-sided affair that left no doubt who the best fighter on the planet was.
- Mike Tyson vs. Larry Holmes. January 22, 1988, Atlantic City Convention Hall; Atlantic City, New Jersey. A come-backing ex champion Holmes, who hadn’t fought in 21 months, is easily overwhelmed and defeated by the much younger Tyson. Larry tries to keep Mike off of him with an extended jab, but is stopped by a series of tremendous blows in the fourth, and counted out. The torch is officially passed to the new generation in Tyson, who looks unbeatable at this point in his career.
- Mike Tyson vs. Michael Spinks. January 27, 1988. Atlantic City Convention Hall; Atlantic City, New Jersey. Tyson and Spinks meet to unify officially the heavyweight title, with Tyson holding all 3 belts, and Spinks still recognized as the lineal champion. It’s no contest, as Spinks is hurt by the first hard blow by Tyson, and knocked down and out on his back in just 91 seconds. Tyson leaves the ring as the undisputed champion, and on top of the boxing world.
