Tyson vs. Holyfield 1 In Person Part 1

I purchased a ticket for the Tyson-Holyfield fight on the phone. My seat was $600 was not exactly ringside, but I was just glad to be going. I vividly recall having a premonition of the fight while I was running one morning, seeing Evander knock out Tyson in round ten. The thought thrilled me, and I counted the days until the November 9th battle.

Not only was I a huge Holyfield fan, I simply couldn’t stand MIke Tyson. Not only him, but the morons he had as managers, a couple of nitwits named Rory Holloway and John Horne. Add the lying con man Don King to the mix, and it could only add to my disdain for Team Tyson.

The odds for the fight opened at 25 to 1 after the Tyson-Seldon mismatch, and the story I attach to that involves Evander’s ex trainer Lou Duva. He dropped $10,000 on Evander, and when his fighter knocked Tyson out, he pocketed a cool $250,000 cash. He often said “I put my grandkids through college off the win!”

I made my way to Vegas planning to check the odds and drop a few bucks on Evander myself. Anyone who has ever been to Vegas for a big fight weekend will say there is simply nothing like it. This weekend would be no different.
