My Top 5 Worst Decisions

This is My List of the Top 5 Worst Decisions

    1. Pernell Whitaker vs. Jose Luis Ramirez. March 12, 1988. Levallois, France. This is the absolute worst decision I have ever seen live in my entire life. Sweet Pea won no less than 10 of 12 rounds, but was robbed by crooked judges, who awarded Ramirez a split decision victory.
    2. Pernell Whitaker vs. Julio Cesar Chavez. September 10, 1993. San Antonio, Texas. Pernell Whitaker easily outboxed the undefeated Chavez, but the bout was scored a draw by totally inept scorekeepers. Whenever Don King was involved with a fight, nothing every surprised me, especially since Chavez was his meal ticket.
    3. Lennox Lewis vs. Evander Holyfield. March 13, 1999. New York, New York. In a fight to unify the heavyweight title, Lennox Lewis thoroughly dominates Holyfield for 12 rounds, but is denied his just due. Definitely the worst decision in any heavyweight fight I watched live, but justice was served when Lewis defeats Holyfield in their rematch 8 months later.
    4. Joe Louis vs. Jersey Joe Walcott. December 5, 1947. New York, New York. The bout at Madison Square Garden sees Walcott drop Louis to the canvas twice, and easily outbox the long time champ. As the decision is being read, Louis leaves the ring, knowing he had lost the fight. Incredibly, Walcott loses by decision, in an all-time heavyweight heist
    5. George Foreman vs. Shannon Briggs. November 22, 1997. Atlantic City, New Jersey. Watching my favorite all-time fighter, George Foreman, easily outslug the much younger Briggs was exciting to watch live on HBO. When the scorecards were read, and the corrupt New Jersey judges gave the fight to Briggs, I wanted to vomit. Foreman announced his retirement in the Convention Hall ring afterwards, and in his typical classy style, was gracious and kind in so called defeat.
